The Old Fire Station

We understand that a successful launch is about more than just opening the doors—it’s about creating a moment that captures attention and leaves a lasting impact. When we were appointed by Salford University to launch The Old Fire Station, an independent coffee shop, bakery, and brewery at Crescent, Salford, our aim was to generate excitement and establish it as a must-visit eatery from day one.

Launch event

In the lead-up to the opening, we worked closely with the marketing team to build anticipation. A series of photoshoots were organised to showcase the food, drink, interiors, and overall character of The Old Fire Station, ensuring the brand was visually strong across all marketing channels. We also engaged with local food and lifestyle influencers to help spread the word, generating organic social media coverage that placed The Old Fire Station firmly on the radar of Salford’s food and drink community. Alongside this, we developed a PR strategy that secured coverage in regional media and food and drink publications, highlighting the venue as an exciting addition to the area.

For the launch event, we carefully curated a guest list to ensure key figures from the university, the city, and the media were in attendance. The event welcomed the Mayor of Salford, Paul Dennett, along with university leadership, regional press, and influential figures from the local food scene. The evening was designed to be a vibrant and welcoming occasion, featuring live music from local performers and DJs, speeches from the Mayor and University Dean, and the opportunity for guests to sample food and drinks from the menu. To mark the occasion, every guest received an exclusive goodie bag, reinforcing the venue’s identity and encouraging further engagement.

The launch of The Old Fire Station was a resounding success, generating significant press coverage and social media engagement, firmly positioning it as a key part of Salford’s growing food and drink scene.
At Solid Ground, we specialise in curating high-impact events that not only drive awareness but also create a genuine sense of place. Whether it’s a new residential development, retail destination, or hospitality space, we help our clients launch with confidence, visibility, and real impact.
