Our top 3 events at MeadowSide (to date)

Our top 3 events at MeadowSide (to date)

From pooch dates in the park, to street-food Saturdays and open-air yoga, MeadowSide has seen some brilliant events take place in Manchester’s biggest green space. While we’re stuck inside, longing to be outside, our marketing assistant, Georgina looks back at her favourite activations at MeadowSide so far.

Bite + Bike

Bite + Bike was one of three unique pop-up street food events that Solid Ground produced for MeadowSide last year. The event welcomed amazing street food from traders such as El ContadorBig Mouth Gyoza and Bon Street Food, and were accompanied by local brewery Beatnikz Republic Brewing Co who brought an awesome selection of refreshing beers. Pop Up Bikes made an appearance too, giving free bike checks and cycle surgeries to visitors.

Bite + Bike ran alongside a Help to Buy activation held inside the MeadowSide show apartment, offering friendly, professional advice to people interested in buying an apartment.

The relaxed vibe truly made Bite + Bike stand out as a top event for me. Everyone was sat around, eating, drinking and playing games with each other! A real highlight is getting to taste a all the amazing food, it doesn’t feel like work when you get to experience the event too! Bite brings in – eats, beats and booze – keep up to date with all things Bite here!

Yoga in the Meadow

What better way to start the day than with a little outdoor yoga? Yoga in the Meadow is a series of pre-work yoga sessions with our brilliant instructor, Kate, which have always proven really popular.

Yoga in the Meadow encompasses the ethos of MeadowSide by showing how great it is to live close to nature and encouraging a healthy lifestyle and good mental wellbeing which is important when you’re used to life in the city centre.

The brighter mornings see the return for this in-demand event and there’s no greater way to reconnect with our bodies, nature and environment than Yoga in the Meadow. A favourite for many, our yoga sessions see many regulars return with guests! Kate’s down to earth approach to yoga has really grown my own interest for it. I love having the opportunity to try new things as a daily part of my job.

The world of events has been flipped on its head as a result of Covid-19 and we have been working to create events virtually.

One change of plan is April’s Yoga in the Meadow will now be online. The first instalment will now run online from 8-8:45 24th April. Email: MeadowLife@MeadowSide-Manchester.com to get involved or send a message via the Instagram.

National Walking the Dog Day

The homes at MeadowSide will be pet-friendly and we wanted to welcome Manchester’s dog-loving community to the scheme. MeadowSide invited dog owners to the park for a free outdoor dog photoshoot, where they could get a professional photo of their pooch! Adorable dogs in abundance? This automatically goes to the top of my favourite events to work.

Angel Meadow Park was flooded with dogs and owners, giving all a chance to meet their neighbours. Swan Song Coffee and Vegan Poochy Treats were on hand providing sustenance for dogs and humans!

Solid Ground produce fun, vibrant activations which build strong local communities.
